Choosing a surf school
It's very important to take a surfing class or a clinic to get a solid foundation. Look for a surf school that takes pride in their teaching.

Programs and Statistics

Nancy Emerson Australian School of Surfing offers corporate team building events that foster stronger team morale and strengthen relationships among co-workers. The learn-to-surf experience is an equalizer, and helps build stronger, more focused corporate teams.

These events are powerful training programs to create lasting and sustainable change.

Like many organizations, you have probably used formal training programs. You may be wondering, “Are we making the most of every dollar we spend on training?” and “How can we increase the effectiveness of such programs and the application of the skills and knowledge gained so we can affect positive change, increase productivity, develop greater initiative and leadership models, and gain greater team commitment and ownership?”

Unfortunately, many organizations are not happy with their answers to these questions. If you are not satisfied with the results of your training efforts, there could be several reasons why, including these two:

  • First, statistics show seminar participants retain very little immediately after a program based on traditional learning approaches that place a high emphasis on theory and little on actual practice, association and transference. People learn by doing.
  • Second, organizations often find that the information their employees do retain does not result in long-lasting change within the workplace of the team because theory is not put into practice in the learning environment. Therefore, individuals have to not only retain and interpret the fragmented information, but also devise a method for implementing the process back into the existing team culture. This situation allows for an imperfect translation and a high correlation for failure.

This is still true even when employees leave training seminars motivated by a strong intention to implement changes.

Our programs embed a culture of working together flexibly to achieve both individual and team goals so team members return to the workplace energized as a functioning and productive unit. Our processes can immediately add value to the company by transferring skills and knowledge gained through these programs.

The corporate surf team building event covers the following areas as the fundamental vehicle for team development:

  • Ocean awareness,
  • Water safety,
  • Surf etiquette,
  • Lecture on surfing and how to get started,
  • Demonstrations of entering, exiting, paddling and wave riding techniques, and
  • Group races in the ocean as a team challenge to apply your new knowledge and experience.

The return on investment for leadership coaching can be powerful.

Companies maximize return on investment when training affects positive change among employees that results in increased productivity and profit.

A survey by Manchester USA Inc of 100 executives who received coaching shows it benefits include improved:

Working relationships with employees who report directly to them (according to 77% of executives)

  • Working relationships with immediate supervisors (71%)
  • Teamwork (67%)
  • Working relationships with peers (63%)
  • Job satisfaction (61%)
  • Conflict reduction (52%)
  • Organizational commitment (44%)
  • Working relationships with clients (37%)
